5 Matters Arising
5.1 Residents parking scheme. Residents have all been consulted by LES. Members report that all discussions with
neighbours to date indicate that the
scheme is not welcomed.
SM contacted Broomhill CC
and they held a public meeting on 8 May which resulted in a vote of 300 against
and 1 for.
Claythorn CC has taken no
view on the matter but feels it is up to residents to respond.
5.2 SM again emailed GCSS seeking information
on their activities within Jordanhill but no reply received to date.
5.3 Following the decision by members at the
last meeting to join ASCC, SM made further enquiries. We also subsequently received a “renewal notice” despite never
having been members. Having
discussed the subject further with CCRC
no action has been taken meantime.
Members agreed to await developments.
5.4 Despite an entry in the “Glasgow Diary”
published by seeglasgow, com that the Indian Summer would return to Victoria
Park in August this year, Cllr Colleran has confirmed that it will not return.
5.5 Community Soup. At JCC’s invitation, a member of the editorial team was
present during the meeting and explained the intentions of the new monthly
production. JCC had requested
that they include a reference to our website for the benefit of local
residents. Press date for the next
edition is 6 June.
5.6 SM read brief extracts from the current
GCC Minutes where Cllrs Clay and Mason had both proposed unsuccessful
amendments to a Council motion regarding Local Income Tax.
5.7 SM reported that he had contacted
Planning regarding 11 Borden Road and was told that retrospective planning
consent had been granted on 17 April despite our objection. There were three unsatisfactory aspects
(a) we had not been formally notified
(b) the low raking roof detail
is at odds with all other local recent extensions and (c) SM was told he could
speak to the relevant planning officer only on one specified half day per week
due to a new policy to “allow staff to work uninterrupted”. It was agreed he should follow up these
matters.
6 NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be held in Jordanhill Church Hall on Monday 2 June 2008 at 7.15 p.m.
