2                   POLICE REPORT

Several local house/garage break-ins.  There was a second attack on the shop in Anniesland Road and Community Safety officers have been to advise staff.     A number of handbag thefts have occurred, particularly from cars near the nursery at All Saints.

The officer was again unable to provide specific crime statistics for our area, but it is understood these should be available and Jean Brown undertook to raise the matter with our newly appointed area Commander Bernard Higgins.

3                     MATTERS ARISING

3.1       Annual Accounts.     A signed copy of our accounts has now passed to secretary to send off to CCRC together with Annual Report in order to obtain our annual grant.

3.2       Friends of Victoria Park.   SM and RM attended meeting with other local CCs on 1st  December.     There are possible problems for setting up new group due to the existence of a previous group set up to fight for retention of the blaes pitches some years ago.     Meantime it was agreed that each CC should write to complain about the proposal to remove all the whitebeam trees due to alleged disease and to request second opinion.      Next meeting scheduled for February.

3.3               Overgrowing hedge.   Councillor McLean followed up the complaint raised at the AGM but LES have replied saying that following a site inspection it is felt the encroachment is insufficient to permit them to take action under the Roads Act..

3.4       HMO King Edward Road.     Councillor McLean supplied SM with additional information and SM then sent letter of complaint to Chief Executive regarding six items of concern relating to the handling of the whole procedure..      Brief acknowledgement but no reply to date.
